Puerto Princesa, the capital of Palawan in the Philippines, is often seen as the gateway to some of the country’s most remarkable natural landscapes. The city is best known for the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where a navigable underground river winds through dramatic limestone caves before meeting the sea.
